Everyday usage and various environmental factors will cause your exterior wood structures to weather and to rot if not protected properly.

Damage can be done by any of the following:

Sun Sun: The intensity of harmful ultra violet radiation causes discoloration of the wood’s surface. These UV rays dry out the wood by removing its natural resins. The lack of these essential resins (which are found in living trees) makes the wood brittle and gray.

Rain Rain: When rain is absorbed by unprotected wood, moisture builds up below the surface, providing prime growing conditions for fungus, mold and mildew. These microscopic organisms decompose the wood, causing the wood to rot.

Freeze Freeze: In the winter, snow and ice melt into existing cracks in the wood. When the temperature drops, the melt-water freezes and expands. The Freeze and thaw cycle causes the wood to expand and contract which leads to further cracking over time.

Pressure-treated does not mean weatherproofed.

Pressure-treated wood is injected with a chemical that protects it against rot and termites, but pressure treating wood does not give it weather protection. In fact, it actually makes the wood surface more porous and even more susceptible to moisture damage.

We guarantee our stain for a full three (3) years on our solid stain and for a full two (2) years on our semi-transparent stain and our warranty is backed by multiple locations.

Products

All water repellents are not the same. As Good As New Preservative only uses professional, commercial grade products that are manufactured exclusively for us. These products are made in Texas, by Texans and are specifically made for the Texas climate. They are superior in performance and durability compared to any other products available to the general public. These industrial formulas thoroughly strip and seal wood structures, for up to 5 years.

To ensure that your new fence will stand the test of time we set our post over 2 feet deep with over 80lbs on concrete in each hole.  All of our fences are custom built on site; we never use cheap prefabricated panels.

This is our most popular fence style. Solid wood pickets, simple construction and crisp, clean lines characterize this fence. However, subtle variations in width and top accents can create big differences. You can choose between standard 1″ x 4″ and 1″ x 6″ wide pickets.

Board on Board Fence

Board On Board

These fences fully enclose an area and are the best solution for total privacy. Putting fence picket on top of fence picket covers any line of separation the fence may have from the wood shrinking over time. A Board on Board fence also gives your yard an uncommon, sturdier look since it has a depth from having one board on top of another.

Shadow Box Fencing

Shadow Box

Created by spacing fence pickets on either side of the fence rails, these fences have the advantage of providing airflow through the fence. More or less privacy is created according to the degree of overlap between pickets. This fence style also allows more light to come through so it doesn’t create such a dark space in the yard.

Good Neighbor

This fence is created by putting a fence panel on each side of the posts in an alternating pattern, both sides of the fence becomes “the good side.”  You don’t see the posts on this style of fence because they are wrapped by pickets, making it look more polished and complete. Landscaping can even hide the panels where you see the rails.

Cap & trim can be added to any of the above fences. Cap and trim comes in a variety of sizes to create the appearance of a nicely finished wooden wall. The posts can extend above the rail for an additional finishing touch.

Baseboard

Sometimes called kickboard or rot board, baseboard is a good addition to any of the above fences.   It is a pressure  treated pine board that comes in various sizes and sits on the ground. The baseboard protects the bottom of the fence from rot,  lawn trimmers and helps to keep dogs inside/outside fence.
